POSITION: Education Programs Manager
POSITION TYPE: Part-time to begin and then Full-time
DEPARTMENT: Education
REPORTS TO: Director of Education & Training

POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Programs Manager works alongside the Director of Education & Training to manage all educational program events and initiatives. This individual will primarily work on producing educational events on and off campus and will be instrumental in establishing new programming in our new Carol & Jim Trawick Education Center on Olney Theatre’s campus. The Education Programs Manager will play a vital role in establishing Olney Theatre Center as a hub for theatre education as the first of several anticipated staff additions to education programming.

SKILLS AND VALUES REQUIRED
Program Event Management and Administration Experience:
Proven ability to coordinate, schedule, and oversee multiple educational programs and events.
Strong logistical planning and organizational skills.
Attention to detail in executing complex projects and ability to self-direct and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in tracking budgets, maintaining financial records, and compiling data for grant reporting and program evaluation.
Competence in community outreach and program participant management systems.
Expertise with Google Suite and ability to learn digital tools and database systems quickly and efficiently (Proficiency in CRM systems such as Tessitura a plus).
Educational and Teaching Experience:
Passion for developing and teaching performing arts education for diverse groups of students, particularly K-12 students.
Ability to lead workshops and facilitate engaging learning environments.
Curriculum development and instructional design for theatre and arts education.
Experience working with a public school system and public schools (Experience teaching within a public school system is a plus).

Leadership and Supervision:
Management experience, particularly leading a team and supervising staff members or teaching artists.
Passion and skill in mentoring and supporting the professional development and personal growth in others.
Collaboration and Communication:
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for facilitating discussions, creating departmental materials, and leading events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and manage all educational programs which include, but are not limited to student matinee performances, in-school residencies, workshops, campus tours, summer programs, and on-site classes.
Work with the Education team to prepare and implement programming in newly-built Trawick Center for Education (i.e. camps, workshops, classes) by supervising teaching artists, collaborating on developing curriculum, and managing programs.
Collaborate with the Director of Education & Training on long-term planning for the goals and development of education programming at Olney Theatre Center.
Serve as one of the primary supervisors for the Education and Engagement Apprentice.
Facilitate post-show discussions and help staff with community engagement events.
Help market educational programs, perform targeted outreach to the community.
Serve as primary registrar for school initiatives and Trawick Education Center programs.
Teach workshops and classes on campus and in schools when available.

Assist the Director of Education & Training with keeping track of departmental budget and finances as well as data for grant reporting.
Assist Director of Education & Training with recruiting for Apprenticeship Program by attending career fairs/conferences and prepping materials for incoming/outgoing cohorts.
Serve on a staff committee as yet to be determined.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
BA in relevant degree (or equivalent).
Minimum one year of professional experience in a related field.
Minimum equivalent of one year of full-time teaching experience preferred; Preference will be given to those with experience working in a public school setting.
Preference will be given to those who have worked with Tessitura before, but knowledge of that program or other CRM is not required.
Physical requirements: Sit for extended periods of time (up to four hours), operate a computer keyboard for extended periods of time (up to four hours), ability to speak on the telephone/over the computer for extended periods, ability to ambulate comfortably and with frequency. Ability to lead in-person classes for 1-hour.
Time requirements: Full-time position Monday-Friday approximately 10:00am-6:00pm with occasional evening and weekend work requirements.
Travel: Moderate amount of travel for conferences and site visits.
Transportation: Due to Olney Theatre Center’s location, access to a motor vehicle is required. A valid drivers’ license is required.
SALARY, BENEFITS, AND START DATE
Annual salary: $55,000
Preferred start date: Position will begin as part-time (about 20 hours per week) starting February 16, 2026 and then will move to full-time (about 40 hours per week) starting March 16, 2026.

Time Off: 10 days of annual leave once position moves to full-time (with opportunity to accrue more after 5 years at the organization), 5 personal days, and accrued sick days in addition to designated administrative holidays.
