The Manager of Education & Artistic Operations is responsible for all administrative tasks related to the design, development, execution, and maintenance of nearly all ASA educational programming. They are also responsible for working closely with the Director of Artistic Planning & Operations on executing events outside the realm of education, including working closely with guest artists, composers, and conductors to facilitate smooth visits. This person is additionally expected to build and maintain relationships with arts professionals, community groups, and educational institutions in the Lehigh Valley that strengthen the ASA’s impact in this region. This position is the primary staff liaison to the Board of Director’s Education/Schadt Competition Committee and the ASA’s Latin Leadership Committee.

Education & Community Engagement
• Create, supervise & implement education and community engagement programs including: Youth & Family concerts, Orchestra Lab, Young Musicians String Festival, City Arts Camp, Schadt National String Competition, Schadt String Scholarships & Awards, Masterclasses, Composers Collaborative & New Chamber Music Programs, Community activities offered through Composer-in-Residence Program, Community performances offered through Musician-in-Residence Program
• Where applicable, solicit applications for student participants in ASO concerts and coordinate selection process for these opportunities
Publicity for & Development of Education and Community Opportunities
• Identify and recommend additional opportunities the ASO can offer for Lehigh Valley students and community members
• Connect with external organizations to identify opportunities for partnership & innovative programming and actively search for community champions and partners who can advance the ASA’s education and community engagement efforts.
• Build and manage relationships with education professionals throughout the Lehigh Valley to encourage increased participation with ASA Education programs.
Artistic Operations
• Act as primary contact for pre-arrival coordination of logistics for guest artists, conductors, and composers, including tasks such as creating artist itineraries, arranging hotels, and communicate with guests and managers about their needs
• Provide on-site operations support and attend to guest artist needs at ASA events as determined by the Director of Artistic Planning & Operations.
• Attend monthly production meetings and work weekly with Director of Artistic Planning & Operations to stay apprised on operations plans for events
