Position Summary
Chicago Chamber Choir is seeking a part-time Operations Manager to manage day-of-event logistics, box office operations, and venue coordination for seasonal performances. The position also handles marketing tasks including email newsletters, social media, press releases, and promotional campaigns. Provide administrative support including scheduling, contact management, and coordination with Artistic and Executive Directors.
Job responsibilities
OPERATIONS
-Attending all season performances to provide day-of-event logistical support such as box office management, stage managing, coordination with venues, and reception set-up and clean-up in conjunction with Executive Director
-Assisting with scheduling venues for performance and maintaining communication with venues up through concert day
-Coordinating volunteers for concerts and events, as needed.
MARKETING
-Create and send email newsletters, press releases, and other communications in conjunction with Executive Director
-Assist with the maintenance and implementation of communications and content calendars
-Assist with the management of website and social media pages
ADMINISTRATIVE
-Maintaining master schedules for rehearsals and performances in conjunction with Artistic Director
-Assisting in the maintenance of a master contact sheet and email lists for singers and staff
-Assisting the Artistic Director in handling and communicating with outside gig requests and referrals
-Providing administrative and logistical support to the Artistic Director and Executive Director as needed
Qualified candidates will demonstrate:
-Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and capable of managing time effectively.
-Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
-Organized, punctual, and reliable with strong attention to detail
-Comfortable giving direction and working alongside musicians and volunteers
-Clear communicator who can work well with musicians, staff, and volunteers
-Resourceful problem-solver, able to adapt to last-minute needs
-Knowledge of Chicago area arts community is a plus
-Performance arts administrative experience desirable, but not necessary; enthusiasm for the performing and/or choral arts is essential
Additional requirements:
-This position is offered to independent contractors only; taxes are the responsibility of the candidate
-Compensation will be a flat monthly stipend; no other benefits are provided
-No office is provided for this job. Candidates should possess a home office or have daily access to the equivalent, which must be equipped with a computer, telephone, and internet connection
-Candidates should have a valid license and a car (or have access to a private vehicle) in which to transport office supplies, mailings, and supplies to concert sites
-Preference will be given to persons residing in Chicagoland and interested in maintaining this position for multiple seasons.
Compensation:
Yearly stipend of $5,000. This is a part time position with anticipated commitment of 5-8 hours per week.
