Position Summary
This cross-functional role strengthens Djerassi’s fundraising infrastructure, donor engagement systems, grant portfolio, and internal operations. The Manager partners closely with the Executive Director, Board, consultants, and vendors to support development, finance, administration, and HR.

Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
Manage DonorPerfect CRM: gift processing, donor records, data hygiene, and reporting; lead ongoing cleanup and system optimization.
Administer the Patrons Circle major donor program (~$400K annually); support cultivation, stewardship, and reporting for major donors.
Project-manage the Executive Director’s and Board’s major donor engagement; coordinate pitch materials for Walk & Talks and donor events.
Manage the full grants lifecycle—research, applications, reporting, compliance—targeting ~20 applications in 2027; oversee grant writing contractors.
Expand the grants portfolio to new programmatic areas and strengthen program data collection (surveys) to improve foundation competitiveness.
Support fundraising events (e.g., Artful Harvest): auction management, financial reconciliation, and post-event reporting.
Work occasional nights and weekends.
Operations & Administration
Support financial reconciliation, audit preparation, and invoice processing; administer Bill.com Spend & Expense for credit card and expense management.
Administer Google Workspace: inbox management, access controls, and staff transition protocols.
Identify and document subscriptions, utilities, and systems for cost control and continuity.
Assist HR consultants with onboarding and staff transitions to reduce reliance on external HR services.
Other tasks and projects as necessary to support the mission
Qualifications
Required
2 + years experience in nonprofit development, operations, or administration.
Demonstrated success with donor databases (DonorPerfect or similar CRM).
Strong understanding of fundraising operations, including major gifts and grants.
Experience with financial systems, reconciliation, and compliance.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
Strong communication skills; comfortable working with leadership, Board, and external partners.
Valid California driver’s license and comfortable driving in mountainous settings
Preferred
Familiarity with Bill.com, Google Workspace administration, and nonprofit accounting.
Grant writing and reporting experience.
Event fundraising and auction management experience.
