Job Title: Manager, Donor Stewardship
Department: Development
Reports to: Director, Individual Giving & Major Gifts
Status: Full-time, Exempt

Summary: This position is frontline, outward facing to the top-level donors of the Houston Symphony and is responsible for managing the stewardship of donors including VIP ticketing services, coordinating stewardship events and managing various stewardship projects throughout the season. This position is a key member of the development team.

Essential Job Functions:
I. VIP Ticketing Services
a. Provides VIP ticketing services including purchases, exchanges, renewals, special offers, etc. to VIP donors. Focus on Conductor’s Circle and above ($5,000+) as well as select other constituencies including the Young Associates Council, Legacy Society, Corporations and Foundations.
b. Manages VIP subscription renewal process for individual donors and corporations.
c. Manages production and mailing of VIP subscription packages including donor benefits materials.
II. Stewardship and Cultivation Events
a. Plans and executes donor stewardship events including private rehearsals, behind the scenes and Greenroom meet and greets.
b. Manages cultivation events in private homes, including salon concerts (invitations, rsvp’s, catering, musicians, etc.)
III. Stewardship Projects
a. Collaborates with Associate Director, Individual Giving and Major Gifts on execution of IG stewardship plan, including taking ownership of the GhostWriter and ensuring it is being used in meaningful and impactful ways to cultivate and steward donors.
b. Manages stewardship activities at Jones Hall including donor lounges and valet service for all Houston Symphony concerts.
c. Manages concert sponsorship process including liaising with portfolio owners to ensure their donors are provided sponsorship opportunities.
d. Fulfills benefits of concert sponsorship including ticketing, recognition and event planning.
e. Manages tracking of VIP donors and prospects in Tessitura.
IV. Other Duties
a. Manages monthly calendar of development activities and staffing, including Concert Duty.
b. Maintains a personal portfolio of individual and corporate donors.
c. Manages proofing process for concert slide shows.
d. Updates and maintains donor records as needed.
e. Tracks and manages donor stewardship expenses.
f. Collaborates with colleagues in other departments – acts a liaison with Patron Services.
g. Attends performances and donor events as required
h. Perform additional duties as required by the Houston Symphony Society.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with database, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing.
• Professional, detail oriented, excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
• Creative, flexible, excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, including some holidays.
