The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, a youth and family development program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, is seeking PART-TIME Youth Development Artist for cello, violin and viola as well as a FULL-TIME Youth Development Artist (YoDA) to join our team.
This role is for dynamic string educators who believe music can do more than build strong musicians — it can build confidence, discipline, leadership, belonging, and lifelong skills.
The Youth Development Artist will teach private and small-group string lessons, support orchestra rehearsals, mentor students, engage with families, assist with concerts and events, and help strengthen MYO’s life-skills-centered curriculum.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth development, culturally responsive teaching, student mentorship, and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment for young musicians and their families.
Interested candidates should submit a resume/CV, cover letter with teaching philosophy statement, and optional teaching or performance video links to jobs@indianapolissymphony.org.
Learn more and apply through the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra employment page.
