REPORTS TO: Vice President, Production and Technical Director
STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Production and Technical Director, the Technical Finance Manager is responsible for the processing and reviewing of all financial activity as it pertains to the Technical Department. This position will be a regular liaison with Lyric’s Finance and Payroll departments. This person will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing and accurate processing and review of all technical department financial transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate leadership in alignment with Lyric’s mission and vision.
Under CBA work rules, process, and audit weekly timesheets for all IATSE backstage personnel (stagehands, wardrobe, wigs & makeup, and scenic artist) in collaboration with the Payroll department.
Create and manage weekly labor tracking reports based on productions.
Generate and manage itemized, detailed expense reports by opera production.
Code, track, and report all other non-production related Tech expenses.
Work with the Finance Department to track budget variances within the current season.
Work with the Finance Department to develop and phase future season technical budgets.
Process outside vendor invoicing.
Work with the Technical department to reconcile department credit cards and petty cash.
Review and create vendor agreements as necessary.
Member of IATSE contract negotiations team.
Contribute to the overall success of Lyric by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an applicable area of work specifically working within Finance.
Exceptional knowledge of excel.
Experience with accounting software platforms.
Background in the entertainment or non-profit sector is ideal but not required.
Experience working with unions and/or collective bargaining agreements is helpful, but not required.
Must have effective organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
Ability to work and think independently, a motivated self-starter who works well in a larger team.

COMPENSATION:

Job Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Salary Range is $57,000-$64,000
