Salary: $90,000 annually
Location: Palm Desert, CA (on-site)
Job Summary
The Director of Sponsorships is a Frontline Fundraiser responsible for generating revenue by securing sponsorships and donations to underwrite performances at McCallum Theatre.
Essential Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management:
- Manage an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors, actively soliciting sponsorships, major gifts, and donations for events and priority needs.
- Sponsorship Strategy and Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve annual sponsorship fundraising goals.
- Build and maintain donor relationships and cultivate new prospects.
- Develop and manage the Sponsorship budget.
- Sponsorship Benefits:
- Oversee delivery of sponsorship benefits such as premium seating, artist meet-and-greets, photography, and recognition.
- Identify creative ways to recognize and thank donors.
- Sponsorship Solicitation Event:
- Plan and execute the annual Sponsorship Solicitation Event.
- Oversee brochure production and distribution.
- Work with Manager – Events to ensure successful event execution.
- Follow up with Frontline Fundraisers to close gifts.
- Leadership and Staff Development:
- Contribute to strategic planning as part of the Development leadership team.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Staff the Founders Room during intermissions and before performances.
- Lead staffing of post-show sponsorship parties.
- Support the Annual Gala and Muse Fundraiser.
- Promote the McCallum’s mission and community programs.
- Assist in closing gifts and support fellow fundraisers.
- Demonstrate leadership within the Development Department.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years in a Non-Profit setting, ideally in fundraising or donor relations.
- Experience in customer service, CRM databases, sales, and giving programs.
- Proven leadership or team management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of fundraising or performing arts CRM systems (Tessitura preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: AFP or professional fundraising certification/coursework.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with strong attention to detail.

This role operates within a professional, non-profit performing arts theatre environment including indoor and outdoor areas of the facility.
