Hours: 2 days per week (14 hours) / 12 – 14 weeks

Hybrid position with the option to work some hours each week remotely and some in-person.

Description: Morven Museum and Garden in Princeton, NJ seeks a Communications Intern to support the museum’s digital media, marketing, and outreach. The intern will report to the Marketing Director.

Internship duties: The Communications Intern will assist Morven staff in building and maintaining the museum’s digital presence. This internship will be responsible for the following:
Working across departments to develop, write, and schedule social media content for the museum’s Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts
Leading Morven’s participation in National Youth Takeover Day on June 27, 2026, and other communications efforts connected to Civic Season
Helping to design and prepare both digital content and print materials for museum activities
Assisting in tracking the impact of marketing efforts on program registrations and visitorship
Supporting program outreach by posting in local and statewide community calendars
When onsite, capturing photos and videos of happenings at Morven (exhibitions, events, tours, programs)

Qualifications: A qualified candidate will be organized and self-motivated. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both a remote and in-person work environment. Students interested in museum studies, education, public history, civics, historic preservation, political science, American studies, arts administration, or related fields are encouraged to apply. There is no education level requirement for this position. Morven uses Canva for graphic design; some familiarity with the platform is a plus!
