Job Overview: The Venue Operations Manager will play a primary role in the smooth function of the Venue Operations Department. This position will oversee all events and overall operations for the building including City Center’s administrative offices, studios, lobby and theater spaces. The Venue Operations Manager is expected to demonstrate a passion for their work while supporting City Center’s mission and commitment to being an anti-racist organization.

Responsibilties:

Operations

· Responsible for the smooth operation of the building (office tower, studios, administrative offices, lobby and theater spaces). Responsibilities include but are not limited to; overseeing daily cleaning schedule and tasks, operational set ups, and deliveries.

· Manage all unionized 32BJ porter and matron staff, including hiring, and collaborating with the 32BJ business agent.

· Manage, assess, and evaluate workload for all 32BJ staff.

· Partner with House Management to ensure orderly ingress and egress for performance and events and collaborate on the implement of effective Front of House policies and procedures.

· Manage the operational needs of all studio spaces and set ups for studio reservations, rehearsals, meetings and events.

· Manage all financial tasks for the operations department, including purchasing, expense tracking, budgeting and reconciliation.

· Create and implement package receipt and delivery tracking system.

· Establish and maintain an inventory system for housekeeping and operational supplies.

· Monitor usage of dumpsters and trash receptacles in the outdoor alley and work with trash vendors.

Financial

· Submit operational staff payroll.

· Support the Director in monitoring the operational budget, and reforecasting.

· Track venue operations departmental expenditures and purchases.

· Assist the Director in the management of department budgets and monthly reconciliation.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

· 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

· Ability to lift 35 lbs.

· Proficient with Excel and Outlook.

· Previous experience in venue management and/or arts administration.

· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

· Excellent organization and communication skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Problem solving skills and collaborative approach to work.

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

· Strong interpersonal skills.
