Position Type: Part-time, hourly (average of 20 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM (some flexibility available)
Compensation: $18 – $20 per hour (based on language skills and experience)

Position Overview:
The Education Programs Fellow will primarily supervise the RPA Kids program and assist with the Reno Phil
Youth Orchestras. This role reports to the Youth Ensembles Manager and involves working closely with the
Education, Community Engagement, and Inclusion Director and is responsive to the COO.

music education (does not need to be a musician themselves) and is eager to make a positive impact on
young musicians’ lives. They possess a unique blend of organizational skills, communication abilities, and a
proactive attitude that allows them to effectively manage various responsibilities and adapt to the needs of
the Reno Phil Education programs.

Key Responsibilities:
RPA Kids Program:
• Act as the main contact point for RPA Kids teachers, students, and parents.
• Maintain the RPAK instrument inventory and ensure availability and appropriateness of instruments
for each site with the help of teachers.
• Liaise between RPAK sites, teachers, and the Reno Phil, including managing teacher timesheets for
• Assist teachers as needed, including arranging substitutes.
• Maintain RPAK student rosters throughout the year with teacher assistance via electronic systems.
• Conduct weekly visits to RPAK sites, providing supervision as necessary.
• Track student involvement and prepare surveys and reports for grant feedback and development.

Youth Ensembles Support:
• Attend youth orchestra rehearsals, primarily for YSE and YSS.
• Aid in set-up at youth orchestra rehearsals.
• Provide and review attendance rosters at weekly rehearsals; communicate attendance concerns with
Youth Ensembles Manager.
• Assist with the annual Youth Orchestra Retreat, Concerto Competition, seating checks, and
• Provide additional support as needed (e.g., name cards, extra music copies, taping music copies).
Other Duties:
• Attend regular EDCE meetings.
• Advocate for the Reno Phil and its youth programs within the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Spanish speaking and writing skills are highly recommended.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills with parents, school staff, and students.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
