Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Manager works closely with and receives strategic oversight from the Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee the marketing and communications initiatives for select presentations, including dance, dramatic theatre, family programming, rentals, Broadway and more.

This position collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Communication to manage an integrated marketing and communications approach through a mix of paid advertising, promotional outreach, and earned media coverage to increase ticket sales, implement data-fueled marketing plans, and a multifaceted communications approach through earned media, brand journalism, and multimedia content coverage.

This role demands an integrated plan, leveraging internal and external channels, paid, owned and earned media, to amplify organizational priorities, raise public awareness and mission resonance. Additionally, this position supports community partnerships and fostering a positive perception and raising awareness of the organization and its non-profit mission.

Primary Responsibilities
Contributes to a team-based culture focused on respect, communication, inclusivity, and collaboration.
Develops and implements comprehensive marketing, communications, and promotional plans for assigned programs, in collaboration and under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications. Serves as primary liaison with assigned show press agents. Assists with the design and production of various marketing pieces to support sales and promotional activities. Provides necessary information to Tessitura, the TPAC Box Office, and other key staff.
Schedules, secures, and supervises print/Broadcast/online media buys for all assigned productions; coordinates localization of TV and radio spots, and design, production and trafficking of print ads; prepares advertising settlements; secures final approval from tour representatives on advertising settlements.
Serve as a critical point of media contact for assigned Broadway-related and mission-focused programming, including responding to media inquiries, coordinating advance and in-theatre interviews and appearances for touring artists, and drafting press releases for assigned programs, with oversight from the Director of Marketing and Communications on key messaging or sensitive media opportunities
Collaborate with the communications team to develop and maintain a cohesive annual communications timeline.
Develop and sustain relationships with producers’ and agents’ representatives to obtain approvals of campaign advertising, budgets, timelines, and settlements.
Serves as point person for complimentary ticket requests for assigned shows, including marketing and promotional comps, consulting with the Director of Marketing and Communications when appropriate
Works to ensure that institutional and sponsorship marketing initiatives are represented correctly in each assigned media plan. TPAC and sponsorship logos are included in collateral materials, press releases, media and promotions as outlined in sponsorship contracts.
Works as the primary marketing contact for rental clients fulfilling and settling any purchased advertising in the marketing services guide.
Assists Director of Marketing and Communications as a liaison for the resident companies acting as a resource and fulfilling any marketing needs.
Maintain and oversee assigned show marketing budget in a fiscally responsible manner.
Monitor daily any revenue pieces through appropriate reports.
Reports on results of marketing campaigns, trend analysis, marketing research, and making recommendations, sharing insights and recommendations with the Director of Marketing and Communications to help support strategic goals of the department.
Ensures the distribution of show signage and collateral materials in, around, and on the building – including downtown and citywide poster distribution.
Foster a strong partnership between TPAC and the touring productions
Assists in maintaining the database of valuable media contacts and community partners to cultivate publicity and earn media coverage for TPAC programming.
Work with others throughout the organization to implement and exemplify policies as part of TPAC’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, access, and equity.

Skills and Knowledge
Required: Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of related experience and/or training. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of reporting and the effectiveness of the true marketing mix. Experience creating and managing advertising plans and budgets, based on data. Ability to multitask, including the handling of marketing plans for more than one event or topic at a time. Passion for the performing arts and a belief in the importance of arts education and arts access. Strong organizational skills.

Preferred: Experience in entertainment marketing for live events. Understanding of the importance of bringing new productions to the new Nashville theater goer and a passion for breaking down the outdated mold of who the theatre is for. Detail oriented.

Encouraged: Bilingual capability.

Functions and Working Conditions

Frequent Functions: Working virtually and in an office environment. Comfort with mingling and starting new relationships with audience members, community outlets, and press reps. Nights and weekends required for opening nights, on-sales, and other special events.
Occasional Functions: Local off-site travel. Out-of-state travel may be required. Lifting 30 pounds or less.
