InDesign Contractor: Concert Programs

The Michael O’Neal Singers (MOS) is a professional choral ensemble based in Atlanta, GA. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, MOS presents a full season of concerts celebrating choral music across a range of repertoire and collaborating artists.

About the role

MOS is seeking a detail-oriented freelance InDesign professional to update concert programs for seven events per season. All work is template-based: MOS will provide the InDesign template, all copy, fonts, and assets. The contractor’s responsibility is accurate, clean content placement and delivery of a print-ready file.

This is a remote contract engagement. Providers based in the United States or Canada are eligible. You will coordinate directly with Holly Mulcahy, Executive Director.

Season schedule

Seven events per season across the following months:

• July
• October
• December (two events)
• February
• March
• May

Scope of work per program

Each program is a single 8.5×11 sheet folded in half. All content areas are pre-built in the template; no layout design is required. Per program, the contractor will update:

• Concert program / set list (interior)
• Donor list (interior half-page)
• Message from the Artistic Director, when space provides (interior)
• Featured artist names on the cover (when applicable)
• The contractor will deliver one print-ready PDF per event. Program notes, bios, and other long-form content are not part of this scope.

Contract details

• Rate: $35/hr, billed for actual time worked
• Payment terms: Net 30 upon invoice
• Turnaround: 3 business days from content receipt

• Print-ready PDF per event

Content delivery

• MS Word or Google Doc provided by MOS
• Assets provided by MOS
• InDesign template, fonts, and all image assets

Requirements

• Adobe InDesign CC (current Creative Cloud subscription required)
• Demonstrated experience producing print-ready files, including PDF export to press specs
• High accuracy in copy placement; errors will result in contract termination
• Reliable availability aligned to the seasonal schedule above
• Based in the United States or Canada

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience producing programs or print collateral for a performing arts organization
• At least one professional reference from a performing arts or nonprofit client
• Samples of similar work (concert programs, event collateral, or comparable folded print pieces)
