DuPage Symphony Orchestra seeks two motivated Orchestral Operations Interns to assist with day-to-day summer operations and special projects supporting the Concert Coordinator and Patron Services roles. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about arts administration, event coordination, and nonprofit operations in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1954 whose mission is to inspire and enrich the hearts and minds of the greater DuPage County area through musical excellence, educational programs, and community outreach.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Assist in subscription renewal and patron record-keeping utilizing AudienceView
– Support day-of-concert box office duties and patron concerns, as well as assisting with setup/teardown of materials
– Coordinate donations and various collaborative efforts with vendor partners and local nonprofits
– Collaborate on special projects and other duties as assigned by staff or the Strategic Director of Operations
– Use of monday.com to track and collaborate various projects with staff
– Assist in patron lobby experience development
– Help manage vendor relationships through coordinating for events
– Utilize different marketing strategies in alignment with brand development
– Prepare materials for concerts to ensure smooth execution
– Work cross-collaboratively in staff meetings
– Be a helping hand throughout the process of each event, especially the day of
– Capture photos and videos that bring the DSO to life
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Ages 14–22 at the time of hiring, required by the General Youth Employment in the Arts Grant
– A strong interest in arts administration, nonprofit work, or music
– Excellent time management and organizational skills
– Ability to work in both independent capacities and collaborate in larger projects
– Fundamental computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
– Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
COMPENSATION/SCHEDULE:
– $15.00/hour
– 20 hours/week
– 10 weeks (semi-flexible starting date, ideally no later than mid-June)
– Hybrid working environment
MUST BE AVAILABLE:
– Saturday, June 28, 2025 – Summer concert at Cantigny
– Sunday, July 20, 2025 – Summer concert at Wheaton Memorial Park
