POSITION
The Development & Operations Manager will be vital to drawchange’s success and sustainability, overseeing operations, fundraising, and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the founder/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development & Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership, focusing on fundraising, executive oversight, and operational systems. The position has an up to 50% work-from-home option.
As the organization grows, the Development & Operations Manager will have the opportunity to transition into a co-leadership role alongside the CEO, sharing responsibility for organizational strategy and leadership. This long-term vision reflects drawchange’s commitment to collaboration and sustainable leadership.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
The Development & Operations Manager’s responsibilities will be guided by the following priorities:
Fundraising + Marketing
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure sustainable funding.
Lead all aspects of the organization’s grant efforts, including drafting proposals, managing deadlines, facilitating collaborative input, and overseeing reporting to ensure compliance and demonstrate impact.
Cultivate relationships with individual donors, grantmakers, and community partners to increase organizational support.
Partner with the CEO to strategize and implement marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and enhancing drawchange’s public visibility.
Executive Leadership
Partner with the CEO to set and implement strategic goals and ensure alignment with drawchange’s mission.
Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, contributing to decision-making and leadership initiatives.
Manage all aspects of board operations in collaboration with the board chair, including organizing meetings, preparing materials, providing regular updates, and engaging members in strategic, financial, and governance responsibilities to support the organization’s mission.
Represent drawchange in public forums, building relationships with stakeholders and acting as an ambassador for the organization.
Finance
Monitor and maintain the financial health of the organization through sound fiscal management.
Collaborate with the bookkeeper to produce accurate, timely financial reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with tax and legal requirements.
Ensure effective use of tools such as QuickBooks to maintain clear financial records.
Operations + Administration
Develop and implement organizational systems, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee administrative functions, including office management, HR, and organizational documentation.
Lead the creation and maintenance of an Operations Handbook to formalize workflows.
Program Development + Management
Support the CEO in ensuring program development aligns with the organization’s mission and values.
Provide operational support for the implementation of local and international initiatives.
Assist in recruiting and training program staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
An advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit or small office setting, with demonstrated success in operations, fundraising, or leadership roles.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Proven ability to lead fundraising efforts, secure major grants, and engage donors meaningfully.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, financial management, and reporting.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Analytical thinker with the ability to organize thoughts and build structure around creative ideas.
Skilled in managing teams, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback to team members.
Experience in office management, multitasking, and prioritizing competing demands.
Data-driven decision-maker who balances creativity with operational needs.

PAY:
This is a full-time salary position (40 hours) based in Atlanta, Georgia. $65-000-$67,500
