Join our team! Playwrights’ Center is currently accepting applications for Director of Fellowships and Community Engagement
Playwrights’ Center invites applications from energetic individuals for our Director of Fellowships and Community Engagement position. This role is a senior artistic leadership position and will be a key participant in fellowship support, artistic strategy, and programming.
The Director will be the Primary Artistic Liaison and Advisor to our Jerome Fellows, Many Voices Fellows, and the McKnight Playwrights. The Director will collaborate with and report to the Producing Artistic Director (PAD) to manage, support, and produce all commensurate activities and programs related to the fellows. In addition they will serve as the Lead Producer on the Ruth Easton Reading Series. In collaboration with the PAD and AAD (Associate Artistic Director), they will manage, support, and produce commensurate activities and programs related to the Core Writers, including but not limited to PlayLabs, and any related Public or Internal Workshops.
The focus of this support includes individualized support, individual and group mentorship, and activity planning as part of the day-to-day duties of this position.

One of the nation’s most generous and well-respected theater organizations, Playwrights’ Center focuses on both supporting playwrights and promoting new plays to production across the country. The Playwrights’ Center is at an exciting juncture in its history as we continue to support 2500 playwrights locally, nationally, and internationally through dynamic and unique Membership and Fellowship programs. In Fall of 2025 we will be opening our new home across the river in Saint Paul, MN, where we will continue to support playwrights virtually and in person.

Compensation and Benefits
This role is a full time, in-person position with a salary of $68-$73K and a generous PTO package that includes vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay. Playwrights’ Center also offers full health benefit options and an optional Simple IRA retirement plan.
