Dance Theatre of Harlem is a leading dance institution encompassing a professional performing Company, a leading education center comprised of the DTH School and Dancing Through Barriers®, its national arts education and community engagement program. Founded by the late Karel Shook and Arthur Mitchell, who was the first African American to become a principal dancer with a major U.S. ballet company (New York City Ballet), DTH continues to be a strong economic and cultural anchor for Harlem today. Mitchell and Shook had a passionate vision of creating access and opportunity for any child interested in studying classical ballet and transforming the lives of all people through artistic training, performance, arts education and community engagement.

Dance Theatre of Harlem is seeking an Assistant Manager, Development Operations, to provide administrative support to the Development Department. Data management is crucial because it allows the department to effectively track our impact, understand our donors, optimize fundraising campaigns, personalize outreach efforts, and make informed decisions based on accurate data, ultimately leading to better resource allocation and increased program effectiveness. In today’s data-driven world, effective data management is essential to the organization as we seek to maximize our impact.

Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Assistant Manager, Development Operations responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage internal department processes to ensure data-driven, efficient fundraising strategies and functional reporting.
• Maintain tracking and reporting of campaign revenue to support expanded revenue generation.
• Strategize with the Director of Individual Giving on annual fund and membership. solicitations, supporting growth in contributions / memberships and the number of donors.
• Manage and execute data cleanup.
• Process all gifts.
• Provide regular gift reports to all stakeholders.
• Oversee acknowledgement process of all gifts across all revenue lines.
• Partner with Finance to manage monthly reconciliation, and provide documents and reporting during the annual audit, among other duties.
• Process invoices and check requests.
• Create queries and reports in Raiser’s Edge to facilitate mailings and prospecting across all verticals.
• Maintain Development team office calendar; coordinate cross-departmental meetings and events; prepare meeting agendas.
• Process mail for the Development department daily.
• Provide limited administrative support for the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
• Assist in events, as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications
• At least three years of experience in development operations/administration, office management/administration/operations, executive support, or similar, preferably for a museum or cultural institution.
• Proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines both individually and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with donor management systems and the types of data necessary to support constituent/client relations.
• The desire to work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a courteous and professional demeanor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, Canva and Raiser’s Edge donor database required.

Terms and Conditions
Full time.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and educational background, range from: $50,000 to $55,000 annually, paid on a bi-weekly basis and includes fringe benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life, Retirement (401(k) plan, Transitcheck).
