HOW YOU’D FIT IN + STAND OUT
Opera Omaha is seeking an experienced individual to serve as Technical Director (TD). The principal responsibility of the TD is to oversee all technical aspects, planning and execution of Opera Omaha’s productions, including mainstage, site-specific events, community programs and galas. Working closely with Director of Production, the TD plans, manages and executes technical operations to support artistic goals and stay within budget. This includes supervising technical staff, coordinating logistics, and maintaining production facilities and equipment. The TD ensures that all aspects of their work adhere to established parameters and support the artistic and financial goals of the company. In addition to the Director of Production, the TD will work closely with the Director of Artistic Administration and the Director of Partnerships and Programs. • Facility and Warehouse Management
• General Support and Communication

YOU ARE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU ARE:
• A skilled theater technician who is adept with technical drawing and crew management.
• Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A team player with good communication skills who enjoys collaboration.
• A highly relational person who enjoys meeting and developing connections with people within and outside an organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in technical theater or related field.
• Experience working in opera, and/or a nonprofit performing arts organization is preferred.
• 5+ years of scenic/technical theater experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software (Vectorworks, AutoCAD), Microsoft Office, and production tools.
• Strong knowledge of scenic construction, rigging, lighting, sound, and video.
• Experience working with union labor and interpreting contracts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
