HERE Arts Center seeks a part-time Marketing & External Affairs Associate who will provide key support across all aspects of our marketing and individual giving efforts. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & External Affairs, this position will coordinate departmental systems and data management while also supporting aspects of the organization’s graphic design, website, social media, partnerships, donor research, and more. We are seeking a candidate who is excited to dive into a fast-paced performing arts organization, who is adaptable and interested in building bespoke systems for HERE’s unique programming, and who approaches work with joy and creativity while staying on top of details.
Reports to: Director of Marketing & External Affairs
Salary: $27/hr with 20 hrs weekly, with potential to become a full time position in 2026
Hours: 20 hr/week. Occasional evening and weekend hours for performances and special events may be required.
Paid: biweekly on Fridays
Location: In-person at HERE Arts Center (145 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY). Flexible hybrid schedule as needed.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Systems & Support (70%)
– Maintain organized marketing data and archives for each project, including media coverage, box office reports, etc
– Maintain systems for internal information tracking
– Update and reformat graphics and show art as necessary for posters, social media, website, lobby screens, etc.
– Update webpages as necessary
– Support outreach for cross-promotion and papering opportunities
– Coordinate Instagram takeovers with HERE artists
– Manage poster & postcard distribution as needed
Development Administration (30%):
– Pull reports on donors and audience members from CueBox (our Customer Relationship Management software)
– Compile individual giving research
– Support the maintenance of donor database and maintain detailed records of development activities and communications.
– Support fundraising and cultivation events (Gala, HERE Member Nights)
Preferred Qualifications & Personal Attributes:
– Any experience in marketing, nonprofit development, or comparable field.
– Proficiency in CRM systems, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and basic graphic design software
– Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, and Wordpress a plus
– Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build authentic relationships
– Creative problem-solver who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced settings
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
– Curious critical thinker who enjoys learning on the job
– Lover of systems with the instinct is to build systems where they’re missing or improve them where they already exist
– Experience working with artists and ability to meet them where they are in the creative process.
