Position Overview:
In keeping with the mission of Canyon Concert Ballet (CCB), the Executive Director (ED) provides leadership for the administrative functions and goals of the organization. The ED will be CCB’s greatest advocate, interacting regularly with internal organization members and external community members, civic partners, and donors/sponsors as a public and engaging leader. The ED will develop and enact effective planned giving, fundraising, marketing, and communication plans, by seeking out, creating, and supporting strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and donations. The ED will maximize revenue, and collaborate with CCB’s Artistic Director, School Director, and administrative staff to regularly organize and report upon the budget.

The ED will hire, supervise, and retain administrative and contracted staff. The ED will foster a culture of mutual respect and trust throughout the organization, by way of defining and upholding comprehensive policies and procedures, and supporting personnel with comprehensive performance reviews, development opportunities, and fair compensation. The ED will oversee facilities and operations management in collaboration with key stakeholders.

In partnership with the Board of Directors, Artistic Director, and School Director, the ED will work to establish and ensure a welcoming, equitable, and successful organizational experience for staff, students, families, and patrons.

This is a salaried position and reports to the CCB Board of Directors (BOD). The position is full-time, exempt, averaging 40 hours/week for an annual salary of $50,000 – $55,000, and is expected to work nights and weekends as needed for organization events.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic plans that meet the mission and vision of the organization.
• Oversee the organization’s finances and ensure its financial stability and growth.
• Supervise, develop, and retain a high-performing administrative staff and contracted staff.
• Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders, including community leaders, donors, and partners.
• Oversee all programs, services, and activities to ensure they align with the organization’s mission.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Represent the organization in the media and at public events.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Arts Management or related field.
• Proven leadership experience in an arts or non-profit organization.
• Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, payroll, and reporting.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Northern Colorado’s leading dance school since 1979, Canyon Concert Ballet has set the standard for classical and contemporary dance education and performance. Originally a performing extension of the school, CCB began performing The Nutcracker in conjunction with the Fort Collins Symphony in 1980. In the decades following, the school and company grew in both size and reputation, as CCB generated countless professional dancers and its expanding season of productions was received with critical acclaim. In recent years, the company of dancers has developed to include professional performers from around the world, making CCB Northern Colorado’s premier ballet company. CCB performs four productions annually, including The Nutcracker, a second full-length classical ballet in the spring, and two cutting-edge contemporary ballet programs in the fall and winter.
