Organizational Summary
The mission of Carolina Performing Arts (CPA) is to spark curiosity, inspiring all members of our community to discover and more fully engage with the world. We collaborate with dynamic and compelling artists from across the globe to create novel, mission-driven performing arts experiences in partnership with our community. We also open our venues to others to explore, create, and celebrate their own work. Through the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts, CPA oversees all artistic programming, campus and community engagement, marketing and fundraising for its presented, commissioned and produced work, and manages all operations of its venues including facility rentals, technical production, audience services and ticketing.

Position Summary
The Producing Coordinator provides critical planning, coordination, and implementation support for Carolina Performing Arts as the organization presents and produces performances, artist residencies, festivals, new works in development, academic engagement, and community collaborations. This position is responsible for three primary domains of work: project management, event management, and administration.

As a project manager for various artistic endeavors, this position will lead and provide support for project teams made up of cross-functional staff and will be responsible for managing team workflow, productivity, and goals. Specific functions will include anticipating and identifying opportunities, challenges, and questions that need attention and engaging relevant team members in the most appropriate mode of communication and/or decision-making to addresses those issues; practicing active, skilled facilitation to guide the team through ideation and deliberation; and effectively delegating and tracking action items to ensure progress between meetings. The Producing Coordinator is accountable for effective and timely communication within and outside of the team, and for socializing and advocating for the voice of the artist to ensure impeccable execution of artist’s vision. Additional administrative work for project teams will be required such as scheduling and organizing meetings; documenting and disseminating key takeaways and action items; and managing reports out to the full staff.

This position will serve as a hands-on host and provide onsite event management support for all CPA-produced events, serving as a critical link between CPA and guest artists/collaborators to ensure the highest quality of service and care for the artist and their team. They play a vital part in building mutual trust and supporting the cultivation of long-term relationships with artists and other stakeholders. This role will also manage day to day administrative functions for the department including organizing all logistics for visiting artists’ engagements, creating and maintaining detailed artist itineraries, recording expenditures, and tracking and processing payments. Producing Coordinators report to the Assistant Director of Artistic Operations and collaborate as a team to advance all artistic engagements and staff all live events.

Minimum Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

*Patience and agility when faced with last-minute changes and limited information.
*Enthusiasm and demonstrated ability to be flexible and collaborative in a transitional, fast-paced environment.
*Ability and willingness to work a flexible, varying schedule that can include weekends, long hours, late nights, and holidays as necessary.
*A valid driver’s license is required

Preferred Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in the arts or a related discipline.
*At least 3 years working in a performing arts setting. 5 or more years strongly preferred.
*Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office365 Suite, Zoom) and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
*Familiarity with ArtsVision software.
*An interest in current industry trends.
*Experience with basic budget processes.
*Familiarity with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
