Mission Statement: Choristers Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that enables leaders to nurture the musical and spiritual growth of children, youth, and adults.

Overview and Reporting Relationships
Choristers Guild is seeking a full-time Executive Director who resides or will relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. CG is a member-based, not-for-profit organization which publishes music and educational resources, creates educational and training events, and advocates for the musical excellence of children, youth and adults. The Executive Director is responsible for the administrative and financial operations of the organization, personnel management for remote and onsite staff, and for providing vision, strategic direction, and oversight which ensure the success and sustainability of CG. The Executive Director reports to the National Board of Directors.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
⦁ Embody the values of CG and lead efforts to understand and evolve its strategic vision. This includes motivating staff, board members, and others to support that vision.
⦁ Take a leadership role, supported by key staff and board members, to cultivate and encourage major donors.
⦁ Partner with a grant writer to obtain grants.
⦁ Forge strong external partnerships with individuals, groups, membership chapters, and key partner organizations to further the goals of CG.
⦁ Ensure the organization’s human and financial resources match its overall objectives and generate sustainable practices.
⦁ Ensure the professional staff have the structure, authority, resources, and guidance to do their very best work. As part of this effort, periodically evaluate new technologies for collaboration, publishing, community involvement, sales, and marketing to ensure CG is an efficient steward of its resources.
⦁ Manage all aspects of a major publishing company.
⦁ Be a spokesperson for the organization, working with the staff to develop key messages which inform and persuade members, chapters, influencers, etc. about CG and its impact on children, youth, and adults. Share those messages via a broad range of communication channels.
⦁ Work closely with the National Board of Directors on board development activities which grow its capacity to support the organization. Develop and maintain effective and transparent communications and engagement with the board.

Qualifications and Expectations
⦁ Prior senior management experience guiding a not-for-profit organization of similar scale, and/or experience in the areas of music publishing and royalty management.
⦁ Ability to collaboratively imagine and develop a strategic vision for a strong and sustainable organization that can build upon its 76-year history.
⦁ Proven ability to create and champion working environments for staff which facilitate their best work and motivate them toward a common purpose. Provide staff development opportunities.
⦁ Past success in fundraising (including major gift cultivation), and the ability to support and collaboratively work with the board of directors in fundraising and grant writing efforts.
⦁ A strong commitment to the mission of CG.
⦁ Understand, appreciate, and respect the role of music in the worship life of various denominational traditions.
⦁ Overnight travel as needed for professional gatherings, fundraising, and CG sponsored events.

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience. Compensation includes contributions to group health, dental/vision coverage, tax-deferred 403-B retirement plan, life and disability insurance, 15 PTO days and 12 paid holidays.
