Interim Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events
Classic Stage Company is seeking a full-time Interim Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events. CSC challenges the traditional perception of classic work by exploring and reimagining stories across the world’s repertoire.
Position Summary:
The Interim Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events is a temporary, exempt, salaried position. This role will be employed for approximately six months, during the first half of 2025. The candidate will be expected to work at CSC’s office located at 41 East 11th Street and CSC’s theater at 136 East 13th Street. CSC has a hybrid work schedule from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends. The in-office expectation is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
This role will manage, administrate, and fulfill all cycles of individual giving with a focus on the Patron Program comprised of a donor portfolio who give $1,000 – $10,000. This position is a key member of a highly professional fast-paced 6-member team with growing revenue goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Development but also works closely with the Producing Artistic Director.
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial-minded and innovative professional in development or arts administration to learn and build a program within a contemporary theater business model. While this position is temporary, there is intent to grow it into an ongoing role before the end of the staff term. Key areas of management include:
Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors and ensure that the fiscal year revenue goal of $2 million is met.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward current donors and prospects, working with volunteer boards.
Provide impeccable customer service as pertains to benefit fulfillment, including concierge service for ticket purchases.
Manage renewal solicitations as well as acknowledgment letters.
Manage broad-based appeals and assist with the development of related collateral.
Oversee donor data capture and management and prepare reports for Board and other meetings.
Work closely to plan and oversee donor or fundraising events, including opening night receptions, Classics Gone Mad, Benefit Concerts or Readings, and other donor cultivation events.
Participate in administrative Development events as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
BA degree with a minimum of 3 years of full-time fundraising, customer service, or marketing experience in a not-for-profit performing arts organization.
Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively, and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work in a small team, be flexible, team orientated, self-motivated and have a sense of humor.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong donor research skills.
Familiarity with donor CRMs, Microsoft Office, ticketing functions and software preferred. (CSC utilizes Spektrix)
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, temporary, exempt, and salaried position with a salary range of $1000 – 1400 weekly.
