CIM is an integral part of Cleveland’s art community, presenting nearly 600 free performances and master classes on campus each year, and hundreds more at locations throughout the region, including Severance Hall, which is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest concert halls. Students and faculty engage with partners including The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Institute of Art and other cultural, educational and community organizations to create classical music that is as vibrant and varied as the city of Cleveland.

Job Summary

The Digital Content Manager is a crucial member of CIM’s marketing team and responsible for the daily execution of CIM’s social media and website maintenance, and overall strategy for email marketing, focused on attracting conservatory and preparatory students and families, increasing enrollment, engaging donors and community members, building awareness around CIM events and enhancing the Institute’s image and reputation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

-Oversees all digital content to ensure consistent branding and style and offer expertise on creating user-friendly, effective systems.
-Devises and publishes engaging content – interacting with fans, students, prospective students, donors and audiences – across all CIM social channels.
-Functions as webmaster for CIM’s website CMS (Drupal).
-Liaises with other CIM department heads and staff to ensure compelling, up-to-date information on the website, inclusive of the concert and event calendar and supporting pages.
-Creates and proofs content for the website using best practices in SEO, user experience, and accessibility.
-Manages relationship with website development firm and contractors.
-Manages email marketing strategy and ensures campaigns are successfully executed.
-Tracks and analyzes digital marketing performance to inform transparent, data-driven strategies.
-Works closely with development colleagues to support online alumni relations and donor cultivation strategy.
-Works across the Institute to develop and support digital marketing efforts for educational programming, such as the Academy at CIM and the Center for Innovative Musicianship.
-Manages and facilitates content owner training for the Institute’s SharePoint intranet.
-Assists with crisis communication efforts across the digital space.
-Attend CIM concerts and events as needed, which may require occasional evening or weekend hours.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field preferred.
-4+ years of hands-on experience managing websites and social media.
-Previous work in higher education or the performing arts, especially classical music, industries desired.
-Demonstrated success managing social media campaigns.
-Ability to communicate effectively via digital channels.
-Familiar with Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint.
-Experience with Durpal, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, or similar competitor software.
-Demonstrated knowledge of content management, social media marketing and best practices, website development and project management.
-Experience with interpreting marketing data analytics.
-Photography skills and comfort with basic video editing a plus.

Working Conditions

Routine office environment. May need to work evenings and/or weekends.
