Summer Internship in Operations for the Elgin Master Chorale

Elgin Master Chorale (EMC) seeks a motivated Operations Intern (ages 14–22) for a 10 week internship of 20 hours per week. This intern will assist with day-to-day summer operations and special projects supporting the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Staff. This is hands-on opportunity to learn about arts administration, event coordination, and nonprofit operations in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities: Assist in grant research and preparation for submission.
Support rehearsals, workshops, and auditions through planning and setup.
Reorganize and catalogue EMC’s music library.
Provide general administrative support such as data entry, correspondence, and file management.
Collaborate on special projects and other duties as assigned by staff or the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Ages 14–22, with a strong interest in arts administration, nonprofit work, or music.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Previous experience in music or arts-related activities is a plus but not required.
