Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is a nationally recognized LORT (D) Theatre with an $11M operating budget. Established in 1974, FST has grown into a major force in American Theatre. It is the largest subscription theatre in Florida and among the largest in the country, serving more than 225,000 live attendees each year through its diverse programs: Mainstage, Cabaret, Stage III, Children’s Theatre, FST School, New Play Development, and FST Improv. FST remains firmly committed to making the arts accessible and affordable to as many people as possible.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Associate Managing Director is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization while fostering its strategic expansion. This role oversees financial management, compliance, personnel supervision, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with strategic goals.
• Manage budgets, payroll, contracts, grants, and corporate compliance.
• Supervise staff, providing leadership and support for team development.
• Collaborate on strategic planning with senior leadership.
• Support fundraising initiatives, including the current $57 Million Capital campaign for the McGillicuddy Arts Plaza.
• Partner with Executive Team to implement the theatre’s Strategic Vision, ensuring all operational, artistic, and financial decisions align with the mission and institutional goals.
• Collaborate with the Executive Team to implement and maintain business functions, policies, and organizational infrastructure.
• Oversee the budget, control expenditures, create forecasting models, and develop financial analysis with the Director of Finance.
• Maintain consistent financial controls and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as foundation and grant requirements.
• Ensure that all reporting and legal requirements are met and that appropriate risk management policies are in place.
• The ability to handle special projects from beginning to end.
• Collaborate with outside vendors, such as Insurance Representatives and Financial Institutions, to develop long-term planning strategies that address risk management for the organization.
• Foster a positive company culture by providing leadership and management to the staff, establishing accountability measures, and ensuring an environment where all staff, interns, and artists feel safe, supported, valued, and respected.

Qualifications:
• Experience in theatre arts management.
• Strong financial management skills.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Passion for the theatre.
