Job Title: Education & Community Engagement Coordinator
Department: Education & Community
Reports to: Associate Director of Education & Community Engagement
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt


The Education & Community Engagement Coordinator provides support for the Education & Community Engagement department. This position is responsible for supporting musician activity at schools, hospitals, and social service organizations and performing administrative duties.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide administrative and on-site support for musician activity at school and community organizations
Generate social media and marketing content for programs as needed with Marketing department
Coordinate concert ticket offers for schools and non-profit organizations
Coordinate logistics for department and committee meetings and take meeting minutes
Assist Director of Education with
Student Concert registration and logistics
High School Residency implementation, including open rehearsals and lobby concerts
Lobby activities for Family Concerts, Junior Patrons, and Theater District Open House
Youth Orchestra offerings
Provide Chief of Education & Community Engagement with administrative support as needed.
Prepare department data and reports
Manage Instrument Petting Zoo inventory and on-site implementation
Update departments constituents in Tessitura as needed
Concert/event duty as assigned
Other duties as assigned


Bachelors degree in music, education, business administration or relevant area preferred
1-2 years of experience in administration or related field preferred
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and internet navigation
Experience using Tessitura a plus
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
An interest and passion in education and community-building initiatives
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with timeliness, efficiency and precision
Organized and thorough work-style and meticulous attention to detail
A collaborative, generous, team-oriented attitude that contributes to a positive organizational culture
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
Must have reliable transportation for travel to various locations throughout Greater Houston
