Founded in 1987, the no-cost studio and pathway programs exist for young people in Chicago who want to explore visual arts and do not have access to arts programming due to financial and systemic barriers. Overview of Position:

The Manager of Program Impact oversees registration and retention data that centers the experiences of youth and their families, and informs Marwen’s creative youth development programs and practices. The manager evaluates program methods and measures program impact. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for building and cultivating strong relationships that support year-round youth recruitment, enrollment and engagement. In collaboration with the Programs, Communications and Development teams, the Manager of Impact & Engagement will be responsible for program database management and reporting, as well as leading youth and family engagement programs and events.

Core Role & Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership
Provide supervision and support for the Enrollment Coordinator to monitor and support youth enrollment, attendance and retention
Participate as a collaborative member and thought partner of the programs leadership team, working closely with Program Managers in tracking youth engagement that informs program decisions and narrates impact
Support Programs team with year round program implementation, including but not limited to:
Leading Marwen’s new and returning registration, orientation and enrollment process
Maintaining a presence at Marwen’s front desk during programming hours to respond to youth and families
Supporting participant needs, answering youth & parent questions
Support intentional collaboration between Programs, Communications & Development teams

Data & Information Management
Maintain clear systems of communication, both internally and externally, about student learnings, support needs, youth engagement data, outcomes and deliverables
Manage and implement program and participant engagement information, documentation & evaluation including:
Tracking and communicating student information (Individual Education Plans, health considerations, feedback surveys, think tanks, focus groups, etc) to staff and teaching artists
Implementing survey instruments for new and returning youth & families
Creating and distributing participant records, recommendations, and enrichment letters upon request
Provide support for Programs Team to refine evaluation/assessment tools and methods as necessary to align with program goals outline in grant proposals, program timelines, course learning outcomes and organizational priorities

Youth Outreach & Enrollment
Provide responsive family support via phone, in-person check-ins, and emails to families about Marwen programs, up to and including creating and distributing student records, recommendations, and enrichment letters to increase enrollment and youth retention
Lead and manage internal Community & Program Engagement team, a collaborative between communications and programs teams in aligning youth and family initiatives, internal and external events and partnerships, including
Planning and implementing youth recruitment experiences, events and initiatives, daytime school events, new parent orientations
Managing program engagement, recruitment & outreach materials (ie signage, brochures, forms, newsletter content, etc)
Create and manage youth and family volunteer initiatives
Connecting internal & external initiatives that deepens program impact
Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Partnerships and management team to create a referral process for youth support services, ie mental health, neighborhood/family/community referrals

Administration
Manage the use of Marwen’s database and lead efforts to increase user-friendliness
Manage and monitor budgets for engagement events and data collection systems
Prepare engagement reports for departmental, organizational and external needs
Support cross departmental events & initiatives as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

3-5 years experience managing data, with an emphasis on storytelling and impact
Knowledge of and experience in project and/or information management
1-3 years experience in youth, civic and family engagement, working directly with young people and families from a diversity of backgrounds, affiliations, identities and cultures
Experience with Filemaker Pro or similar database
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel
At least 3 years supervisory experience
Belief in the vital role young people play in social change
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational and planning skills
Understanding of trauma/healing, restorative justice & community building practices
Experience designing programming in community-based and/or arts education settings
Experience working collaboratively and efficiently within a team
Familiarity with the CPS and arts programming landscape in Chicago
Willingness and ability to work consistent after school program schedule, including evenings and weekends during Spring, Summer and Fall terms
Willingness and ability to engage with the general public
Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken

The compensation for this position is $50-54K annually commensurate with experience, generous PTO, full health benefits, and retirement plan match.
