Position: Part-Time Shuttle Driver
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Status: Non-Exempt
Position Dates: June 17 to August 12, 2018

Position Description
• The Shuttle Driver transports Music Academy fellows between Westmont College, the Music Academy campus, and various downtown locations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Drivers will work approximately 20 hours per week, with shifts varying from week to week.

Responsibilities and Requirements
• Provides passengers with safe and timely transportation between Westmont campus, the Music Academy campus, and locations in Downtown Santa Barbara according to a predetermined schedule.
• Regularly inspects vehicle for safety and ensures appropriate fuel level.
• Washes widows and ensures cleanliness of vehicle.
• Maintains required log of number of passengers riding during each time period.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Requirements:
o valid CA Class B driver’s license, 25 passenger endorsement (air brakes are not required)
o current medical certificate
o acceptable DMV driver’s record
o ability to read, write, understand and respond to instructions/directions in English
o ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
o ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds if a tire change is needed

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals such as gasoline. Also may intermittently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can become loud depending on the number of students on the shuttle.

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous van driving experience desired.
• Ability to work on a team and adapt to changing work priorities
Reporting Structure
The Shuttle Driver reports to the Student Services Manager and the Westmont Director of Conference Services.

Compensation and Benefits
• Seasonal position ineligible for Music Academy benefits except where required by law
• Hourly rate DOE
