Are you passionate about orchestrating seamless performances and leading teams to operational excellence? The Oregon Symphony is looking for an experienced Director of Operations to oversee and elevate our concert production efforts. This pivotal role ensures the highest quality in all aspects of concert management, resource optimization, and operational improvements. Here’s how you’ll contribute to our mission:

Key Responsibilities:
•Lead and coordinate all production aspects, working closely with venue staff, orchestra members, and programming teams to deliver flawless performances.
•Manage logistics including stage plots, sound, and lighting, ensuring concert technical requirements are met.
•Develop and monitor production budgets, propose cost-saving strategies, and review artist contracts for feasibility.
•Supervise payroll processing for stagehands, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
•Oversee symphony-owned instruments and equipment, managing maintenance and recommending replacements.
•Maintain technical standards and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
•Serve as the primary contact for venue coordination and technical setups.
•Assist in planning tours and special events, collaborating on community engagement and fundraising initiatives.
•Coordinate production for broadcasts and recordings.
•Lead sound mitigation and safety protocols, including conducting evacuation drills.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in music or related field, or equivalent experience.
•Minimum of 4 years in concert operations with strong knowledge of stage lighting, sound amplification, and orchestral repertoire.
•Proven budgeting expertise and leadership in orchestra management.
•Appreciation for the needs of professional musicians and guest artists.
•Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

Status & Work Environment:
This is a full-time exempt position following a hybrid work model, balancing in-office and remote work. Regular on-site presence at concert venues and occasional travel are required. The noise level is typically moderate, with exposure to stage equipment in confined spaces.
