Position Summary:
The Artistic Planning Coordinator provides administrative support to the Artistic Department, Music Director and Guest Artists of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. This position reports directly to the Director of Artistic Planning and will work closely with the VP of Artistic Planning in performing the administrative functions required for the smooth and exceptional execution of San Diego Symphony presentations. A knowledge and passion for classical music is essential to this position.

The primary duty of this position is to fulfill artist contract requirements and coordinate ALL logistics (hospitality, artistic, fiscal, etc.) directly with artist management. This position also provides administrative support for the Artistic Department, Music Director, and other key staff with aspects of advance program planning and execution to ensure that all timelines are met.

Requirements (sampling)
o Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 1 year of work in classical music industry (presenting house, arts management, orchestral)
o Project management experience; ability to manage multiple projects at once
o Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
o Ability to self-manage, prioritize and work under pressure to tight deadlines
o Available to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required for concert and rehearsal coverage
o Regular, predictable attendance
