Job Title: Audience Services Associate
Reports to: Audience Services Manager
Location: South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC)
Compensation: $20/hour
Schedule: 4 hours per week of administrative work per week, either in person or remotely (with flexibility for increased hours during busy periods) plus Front of House in-person hours during performances (evenings and weekends). Total hours will fluctuate depending on the performance calendar.

Position Summary:
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Audience Services Associate to support the daily operations of our Front of House (FOH) team. Reporting directly to the Audience Services Manager, this position plays a key role in ensuring smooth, welcoming, and efficient experiences at SOPAC.
Key Responsibilities:
Front of House Oversight:
• Schedule Front of House staff, including FOH Managers, House Managers, Box Office Associates, and Bartenders, for all performances and events.
• Serve as FOH Manager during the majority of SOPAC performances, ensuring a safe, hospitable, and well-coordinated environment for patrons and staff.
• Support the development, documentation, and enforcement of Front of House Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with the Audience Services Manager.
Volunteer Program Coordination:
• Recruit, train, and manage SOPAC’s volunteer corps, ensuring a high level of engagement and professionalism.
• Create and maintain volunteer schedules, track volunteer hours, and manage communication.
• Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events throughout the year.
Training & Operational Excellence:
• Assist the Audience Services Manager in onboarding and training FOH staff and volunteers.
• Help maintain high operational standards to ensure consistency and quality in the patron experience.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Generate and submit post-show reports and bar sales reports.
• Enter and maintain performance data and Front of House performance reports.
• Assist with other administrative and database tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• 2 years’ experience in audience services, front-of-house operations, volunteer coordination, or similar roles strongly preferred.
• Prior experience leading a team or working with volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team, remain calm under pressure, and provide excellent customer service.
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through on administrative tasks.
• Familiarity with Patron Manager, Square or similar ticketing/CRM software is a plus.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on performance schedules.
