The American Theatre (Hampton Arts) seeks a full-time Arts Education Assistant Manager. This position reports to the Arts Education Manager and is responsible for supporting the establishment and curating the mission and programming of the Education department in consultation with the Artistic Director. The Assistant Education Manager partners in helping to develop and supervise education programs including SummerStage, Post/Pre Performance Conversations, HomeSchool Theatre programming, Youth and Adult Classes, Workshops, Masterclasses and other Community Partnerships as well as coordinating, scheduling and developing volunteer needs and projects across the division for The American Theatre and the Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center. The Assistant Education Manager coordinates these programs to ensure they are enhancing and supplementing the Hampton Arts season and mission. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors in theatre, arts administration or other relevant field, as well as experience in education, management, or performing arts, at time of start date. Preferred Education: A Bachelor’s degree in an interdisciplinary performing studies program is preferred. Well-developed skills that support creative approaches for working with adults, families, schools, teachers, and general audiences in performing and visual arts are imperative.
