Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is seeking a dedicated Advancement and Philanthropic Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This role will play a vital part in supporting TCG’s individual giving, donor cultivation, and stewardship efforts, as well as helping to implement advancement initiatives that align with TCG’s mission to lead for a just and thriving theatre ecology.
Reporting to Kamilah Long (she/her/hers), Director of Advancement and Philanthropic Engagement, this position is ideal for an organized and motivated early- to mid-career professional with a passion for relationship-building, development strategy, and the performing arts field. Most work is performed remotely; however, occasional travel to other locations may be required throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day Development Operations
● Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and the TCG team to support the execution of TCG’s individual giving strategies.
● Scheduling all Development and Advancement-related meetings
● First point of contact for donor inquiries and communications
● Maintain and update donor, sponsor, funder, board, alumni board, and NCAT (National Council of American Theatre) records and giving history in TCG’s CRM (IMIS), ensuring data integrity and timely gift processing.
● Assist in prospect research, donor segmentation, and targeted cultivation efforts.
● Assist in the creation and scheduling of advancement-related email campaigns, social media posts, and website updates.
● Support donor database management (iMIS) and reporting for both Institutional Philanthropy and Individual Giving, including gift tracking and campaign metrics.
● Help coordinate cross-departmental communications that highlight the impact of philanthropy across TCG programs.
Institutional Philanthropy and Individual Giving Donor Engagement
● Coordinate donor, sponsorships, and foundations communications, including appeals, acknowledgments, and impact reporting.
● Support the planning and execution of annual fund campaigns, year-end appeals, and Giving Days.
Events & Stewardship
● Provide administrative and logistical support for donor, funder, or sponsor cultivation and stewardship events, both virtual and in-person, including receptions, salons, and fundraising events.
● Track RSVPs, manage event communications, and support onsite or virtual event logistics.
● Support the execution of special campaigns and donor engagement initiatives tied to national programs and conferences.
Board & Major Donor Engagement
● Support stewardship of TCG’s Board and NCAT members, including pledge tracking and engagement follow-ups.
● Help prepare development materials and reports for Board meetings.
● Coordinate Board and donor mailings, acknowledgments, and renewals.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
● 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or event coordination.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
● Proficiency in Google Suite, including Drive, Docs, and Calendar
● Proficiency in utilizing donor databases or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, as well as project management tools such as Asana and/or AirTable.
● Passion for supporting theatre and the performing arts, whether through professional or personal engagement.
● Demonstrable experience and commitment to activating anti-racism, equity, and inclusive values, with the ability to apply these values in day-to-day work.
● Dedication and a deep commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments, working effectively across various identities, including gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and immigrant status.
● Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
● Availability for occasional evening events and national convenings.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $52,000 – $55,000. It will include a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental & vision coverage, an Employee Assistance Program, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, two weeks of vacation time, and additional paid time off.
