As the principal conductor, the artistic director conceives, develops, and implements the artistic vision and focus of our professional orchestra. The unique relationship with Tulsa Community College allows a spotlight on education as part of the symphony mission. Collaboration with a volunteer advisory board and fundraising within the community supports the development of the strategic vision of the Signature Symphony.
Master’s Degree required in Conducting, Music Education or a Performing Arts related field.
Five years minimum experience leading performance conducting and orchestration.
Ability to develop and sustain artistic programs that reach a wide variety of ages and cultures in the community. Must have exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
Must have leadership skills reflective of Tulsa Community College values.
Experience should reflect strong team and partnership skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a variety of conducting experience including but not limited to classical, Musical Theatre, Pops, Choral, and Jazz.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting preferred.
