Location: New York City-Based; Able to work remotely 3-4 days per week when not required in the theatre.
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000
Project Start Date: To be agreed upon by both parties; ideally as soon as possible

As a Production Manager at what iF we productions, you’ll take the lead on planning, organizing, and executing specific projects—from large-scale events to intimate theatrical performances. Working closely with creative teams, vendors, and clients, you’ll ensure every element meets our high standards of excellence and fits within the project’s scope. This role frequently involves nights, weekends, and travel, reflecting the energetic and fast-paced nature of live productions.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of production processes, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines, and a desire to be leading member of the what iF we productions team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee end-to-end production timelines, coordinating with creative, technical, and administrative teams.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that all expenditures align with project goals.
• Lead on-site teams during load-in, tech, rehearsals, and event/performance days, maintaining clear communication under pressure.
• Collaborate with vendors (e.g., lighting, sound, costumes) to guarantee timely deliveries and setups.
• Monitor safety and quality standards, addressing any issues proactively to keep productions on track.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting successes and flagging any roadblocks.
• Foster a culture of continual improvement, encouraging team members to share insights and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAITS
Must-Haves
• Proven experience in production management or a related field (events, theater, etc.).
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, plus occasional travel.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly in high-pressure, live-event environments.
Nice-to-Have
• Technical knowledge of lighting, sound, or stage design.
• Experience working in both theater and live event settings.
• Familiarity with Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
• An understanding of NYC Building & Fire Codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
• Must be available for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
• Comfortable working in high-pressure environments and making quick decisions.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, up to 30 pounds.
