The Workhouse Arts Center is now accepting applications for Camp Staff 2025! Are you looking for employment during Spring Break or Summer 2025? Do you love art and working with youth? If you answered, “YES”, then the Youth Arts Camp program might be right for you. We are searching for enthusiastic Camp Counselors to dedicate their days to groups of campers.
Workhouse Camp Counselors must be fun-loving, patient, and genuinely concerned for the welfare and development of the youth community. Camp Counselors act as Teaching Assistants as needed and work directly with the youth students to facilitate activities, snack time, clean up, etc. Counselors are expected to be on site from 8:30-5 pm for their assigned session dates, in addition to the occasional pre-and post-camp care. We are looking for Camp Counselors who are passionate about Visual, Music or Theater arts who can use their creative thinking to ease conflict resolutions and keep students engaged. Counselors have the opportunity to work with different age groups in elementary, middle, and high school.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education Requirements
– Counselors must be 18 & older. College-age students that have a background/experience in visual arts or are studying art-related majors are encouraged to apply.
– Access to reliable transportation and must be able to arrive on time or early.
– Ability to lift a minimum of 12 lbs.
– Must be American Red Cross certified, or CPR/First Aid trained by the first day of camp.
– Must pass criminal background check.
– Must be able to attend pre-camp training and at least one session of camp.
